Jörg Karenfort

Partner and Global Head of Competition and Antitrust at Dentons

Based in Berlin, Jörg Karenfort is Head of Dentons’ Global Competition and Antitrust group.

Jörg advises clients on European and German competition and regulatory law. He has comprehensive expertise in dealing with German and European merger control as well as in cartel and abuse of dominance proceedings before European and national competition authorities and courts. He also advises national and international companies and trade associations in connection with compliance issues and regulatory proceedings at both national and EU level. Jörg is an experienced litigator in complex competition cases and an expert for complex settlement matters. His comprehensive sector expertise covers automotive, banking, energy, TMT as well as life sciences.

Jörg is consistently ranked as a leading individual by Chambers & Partners, Global Competition Review, JUVE and The Legal 500. Best Lawyers named Jörg “Lawyer of the Year” in 2018 for Competition. Jörg was recently described as “very well versed as well as imaginative and stays on top of things” in Legal 500 Germany (2020). In addition to his role at Dentons, Jörg is a lecturer on EU and German Competition Law at the University of Potsdam and regularly publishes on EU and national competition and regulatory matters.
