Tomaso Duso

Tomaso Duso is Senior Advisor at Lear. He is head of the Department Firms and Markets at the DIW Berlin, a professor of empirical (industrial) economics at the Technical University Berlin, and the spokesperson of the Berlin Centre for Consumers Policies. Tomaso is also a Research Fellow for the CEPR and CESIfo.
He previously was professor at the Duesseldorf Institute for Competition Economics of the Heinrich-Heine University Duesseldorf and hold positions at the Department of Economics of the Humboldt University Berlin, the University of Vienna, and the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung. He cooperated as a Senior Adviser with Lear since 2005. His research interests are in the area of applied econometrics in the fields of industrial organization, competition policy, regulation, and management.
Tomaso has advised several public bodies, such as various DGs of the European Commission, the UK Competition Commission and Markets and Competition Authority, the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as the OECD on competition policy issues.
His papers have been published in The Review of Economics and Statistics, The Economic Journal, The Journal of Law and Economics, The Journal of Industrial Economics, European Economic Review, and Journal of Management Studies among other academic journals. Tomaso earned a PhD cum laude from the Humboldt University Berlin in 2002.
