Morten is Co-head of Bird & Bird’s global Competition & EU practice group. Morten is a ranked competition lawyer (Legal500, GCR 100, Leaders League) and was in 2019 and 2021 awarded the Client Choice Awards by Lexology in the Competition & Antitrust category. Morten’s focus is primarily on anticompetitive practices, abuse of dominance and State aid. He has dealt with numerous cases on abuse of dominance (e.g. margin squeeze, predatory pricing, refusal to supply, etc); anticompetitive agreements (exclusivity, price-fixing, etc.) and State aid (e.g. overcompensation, definition of public service, cross-subsidisation, etc.). Morten has solid litigation experience before the European courts in Luxembourg, including before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Justice. He has deep-set experience in the following industry sectors: IT, energy, telecoms, passenger transport, international payment systems, software, music rights and media.
