Francesco Anglani is a partner at BonelliErede. Based in Rome, he is the head of the  BonelliErede’s Luxury Focus Team and he is member of the Shipping & Transport and of the Sport Law Focus Teams. Furthermore, he is member of the BonelliErede Competition Litigation Task Force launched in January 2021 (the first of its kind in Italy) and of the firm’s Marketing Committee for many years.

Francesco’s practice focuses on cartels and abuses of dominant position proceedings both before the Italian Competition Authority and the European Commission. He has an extensive experience in merger control cases at national, European and international level, coordinating multi-jurisdictional filings. He regularly represents clients before European and national courts. Furthermore, he is very active in the private enforcement area and has also gained an unparalleled experience in relation to antitrust compliance programs and revision of distribution systems. Francesco joined BonelliErede in 2002: first based in Brussels, he then moved to London where he was seconded for 2 years to Slaughter and May and finally moved to Rome in 2007 where he was made partner in 2015.

 

Francesco has gained a PhD in comparative business and EU law and EU market law and an LLM from King’s College of London. He lectures at LUISS University both in undergraduate and postgraduate courses and he is Secretary General and one of the founders of the Italian Antitrust Association (Associazione Antitrust Italiana – AAI).
