Christof Schoser

Christof Schoser is head of the European Commission’s Task Force for Third Country Subsidies and, in that capacity, has spearheaded the drafting and negotiation of the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation. Previously, he acted as Deputy Head of Unit for State aid control in the energy sector, where he led the work on the first ever sector inquiry in the State aid area, namely on capacity mechanisms for electricity. Mr. Schoser has worked at the European Commission for more than two decades, including in several leadership posts and as Member of Cabinet of former Energy Commissioner Piebalgs, focusing on competition policy and enforcement in the energy sector. Mr. Schoser holds several economics degrees and a PhD in economics from Freiburg University.
