Mari Scimemi

Director, Barclays Global Competition Team

Mari Scimemi is a Director in Barclays Global Competition Team, which she joined in 2015 after eight years as an associate in the Brussels and London offices of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. During the course of her career, Mari advised clients on complex worldwide cartel investigations, merger control, abuse of dominance and vertical matters across a large number of industries before the European Commission and several other authorities worldwide. She currently leads a team advising Barclays Investment Bank and Services Company colleagues around the world on a variety of competition law matters and topics. Previously, she worked for Mc Dermott Will & Emery Stanbrook, the European Commission (DG Competition), the Italian Competition Authority and the World Intellectual Property Organisation. She is dual qualified in the UK and Italy and holds a Master of Laws from University College London. She was recognised as one of the Women at Competition ‘30 in their 30s Notable Women Competition Professionals In-house’.
