Xandra Reintjes

Xandra Reintjes works at the European Commission as Policy Officer within the Directorate-General for Competition (DG Competition). She works in the unit responsible for the European Competition Network (ECN) and policy development, amongst others in the field of private enforcement. Her daily work includes close cooperation and regular contacts with National Competition Authorities (NCAs), other antitrust units in DG Competition and the European Commission’s Legal Service. This may be in the context of a consultation by an NCA on its draft decision or ongoing investigation, requests for preliminary rulings referred to the Court of Justice, interventions in cases reviewed by national courts, as well as horizontal policy work. Previously, Xandra also worked as Legal Adviser to the Hearing Officers, responsible for organising and conducting (administrative) oral hearings and acting as an independent arbiter in disputes regarding the effective exercise of procedural rights between parties and DG Competition. Xandra started her career as a Dutch qualified lawyer in private practice at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek (in Brussels and in Amsterdam). She obtained LLM degrees at the Erasmus School of Law (Rotterdam) and the College of Europe (Bruges).
