Risto Rüütel

Risto Rüütel is a Partner and Head of the Competition, Trade and Foreign Investments department in the law firm Eversheds Sutherland Ots&Co. He has over 20 years of experience in competition and antitrust matters, both contentious and non-contentious. Risto is one of the most active competition law specialists amongst lawyers in Estonia.

Besides antitrust law Risto has specialist knowledge in foreign direct investment screening and foreign subsidies regulations, also issues relating to international sanctions.

Risto is the founder and acted as first chairman of the Competition and Antitrust Committee of Estonian Bar Association and represents our Estonian office in the technology related improvements initiative within the Eversheds Sutherland network, which aims to introduce legal technology, such as AI and Robotic Process Automation tools.

He has actively participated in the capacity of a competition law advisor in processes of opening the telecommunication, postal, railway, waste management and medicine sales markets to free competition.
