Adano Wario Roba

Adano Roba is currently Acting Director-General (Jan. 2023 -), and Director, Policy, Research, and Quality Assurance at the Competition Authority of Kenya since 2018. Adano directed sector inquiries into the construction industry, airline market and studies in the digital credits market and leasing sector at the Authority.

Previously, Adano served as a Senior Policy Analyst on extractive industries policy in Fiscal and Economic Affairs of the National Treasury, Kenya. He held a senior lecturer position at universities of Eldoret and Moi in Kenya. Adano earned a doctorate and Master’s degrees from the University of Amsterdam (NL), and University of York (UK), respectively. He also held a Postdoctoral position at the Max Planck Institute in Germany, and has several years of policy-oriented research interests and experience.
