Marcel Nuys is a Partner in the Herbert Smith Freehills Dusseldorf office and leads the firm’s German Competition practice. He advises on all aspects of European and German antitrust law. His practice focuses on (complex) merger control proceedings, abuse of dominance proceedings, compliance advice, cartels and antitrust damage proceedings. He advises clients in a variety of industries, including automotive, TMT, transportation and logistics, consumer goods and pharmaceuticals.

Marcel has been recognised as a leading lawyer for Competition in Germany (“Top-Anwalt für Kartellrecht”) by WirtschaftsWoche. Clients praise him as being “pragmatic and goal-oriented”.
